Five Easy Things You Can Bring With You On Business Trips that Help You Sleep Easier
If you are a traveler than you know that it can be really tough to get good sleep. Even those that travel all the time for business find it tough to practially be living out of your suitcase. And these days you also have to worry about bed bugs and things like that. What you want to do is get that feeling of being as close to home as you can and these following things will really help make sleep easier.
The first thing that can help is a sleeping bag made of silk. This is a great option for a couple reasons. First is very comfortable, like sleeping in silk sheets. Not only can these sleep sacks help to repel bed bugs, but they are the only true organic fabric that can completely regulate your body temperature for a great sleep. As far as bed bugs are concerned, all of your other stuff isn’t going to be protected. When it’s about increasing comfort, and if you’re a women, a long silk robe would be a great thing to relax in and of course sleep in too.
Second, a noise machine. Most people are used to sleeping with some sort of noise. One thing that can make sleeping in a hotel so hard is the fact that it’s very quiet… almost dead silent. A noise machine is small and easy to travel with plus is gives you that white noice which makes it much easier to fall asleep.
Third, having something like a piece of your spouses clothing can really help. This is a really crazy technique and women tend to use it more, but this is highly effective at helping you relax really well. The sense of smell is really powerful and it’s one of the things that can envoke memories very easily. When you have a piece of clothing from your spouse, that will naturally relax you and help you sleep much better.
Fourth, read, but make sure it’s fiction. Fiction books have been found, through some studies, to relax your mind and help you fall asleep quickly as well. Fiction books are very affective at relaxing you because they can very easily take your mind off your daily travels and stresses so it’s easier to fall asleep. When you read something like a non-fiction book, you end up thinking too much either about ideas or whatever.
Finally, using your own pillowcases can really help too. Similar to the clothing, you will have that smell of home with you, but more than that, pillows have a very personal choice for comfort and bringing your own can really help ensure you lay down with maximum comfort. These are also a lot cleaner and I do suggest silk pillowcases.
These are great things short of taking your own luxury bedding with you to help you sleep better when you travel. Of course all of these are can be used at your home too and they should be. To all the road warriors and you, here’s to a great sleep.
