Have you thought about the reason for your insomnia?
Why do you have trouble sleeping through the night even if you can fall asleep quickly?Even on the times you fall asleep extremely fast, you are still up in the middle of the night. How do I sleep? Why? What determines whether it will be a peaceful nights’ sleep or a restless one and what can you do to control it?
Physical substances like caffeine in the late afternoon could be the cause of your insomnia, but it could be emotional as well. The good news is that even if not as simple as cutting back on caffeine, resolving certain emotional issues that may prevent you from sleeping have easy solutions as well.
Often, unresolved events that have occurred throughout the day are what stir you awake at night. While during the day you may have had great success of moving tasks around on your to-do list, or in your mind, while asleep, you subconsciously begin to problem solve and figure out where they should go.So the question becomes, how do you put your subconscious worries into consciousness, before going to sleep?
As we believe we are masterful multi-taskers, the truth is that our brain is unable to manage all the information we attempt to store and in the absence of a managing system, our brain continuously sorts through the information, by constantly recalling it.While the brain is doing that, you are unable to fully focus on the other tasks at hand.Consequently, while you attempt sleep, the brain continues its struggle to retain the information.
By creating a system for your job or life, you will be able to get more productive in managing tasks, moving through your day efficiently and feeling more settled as each day ends.As a result, each morning will begin again fresh and each night will feel complete, without having to take unfinished business with you to bed.
Setting up the System:
Opening/Operating System: This part of your system will help you begin each day in an organized and productive way.
1 – List specifically what you will do first.
2 – Please decide exactly on when emails are returned.
3 – Make a declaration of the things from the day before that need to be get done.
4 – For the completion of the task, include the approximate times of day that you will need.
5 – For the unexpected leave blocks of time open.
6 – Your workout or down time as well needs to be scheduled.
End Procedures: This part of your system will permit your mind to rest at night, without feeling the need to rehash your to-do list over and over again.
1 – Move incomplete tasks from today’s’ list, to tomorrow’s list.
2-the list for the next day is to be created.
3 – Lets make a reorganization of weekly tasks.
4 – If necessary organize folders for emails after checking them.
5 – Consider creating a closure ritual, for example closing an office door, shutting down electronics, etc.
List Making: Lists are helpful because they assist you in remembering tasks that need to be done, but having an organized list, is even more effective. To the human brain a list that fills an entire page is overwhelming, and sticky notes often end up in random places.Yet an organization of the list by hour, day or week, in a Day-Timer, or organizer, will enable your brain to look at each task individually, rather than being overwhelmed with all the tasks at hand.
So drink less caffeine late in the afternoon, and treat your new system as a compulsory operating system that
